High School Education:
  • In 2021, High School Graduation Rate of 79.8% (7.5% lower than the overall rate)

  • Post-Secondary Education:
  • From 2010 to 2020, the American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) population in California increased 94.9% and now represent 3.6% of all Californians (up from 1.9% ten years ago).
  • In California, the AI/AN college-going rate decreased 5.5% between 2014-2018.
  • University of California overall new enrollment increased 42.3% from 2011 to 2021, but AI/AN enrollment decreased 6.1%. In 2021, AI/AN students made up 0.4% of newly enrolled students.
  • California State University overall enrollment increased 11.9% from 2011 to 2021, but AI/AN enrollment decreased 50.8%. In 2021, AI/AN students made up less than 0.2% of CSU enrollment.
  • California Community College enrollment has declined 27.8% from 2011 to 2021, but AI/AN enrollment has decreased 53.3%. In 2021, AI/AN students made up 0.3% of enrolled students.
